Prof. Dr. Patrícia OLIVEIRA-SILVA
From Brain Research to Action in Teacher Training: Preparing Educators for the Next Generation of Learners
With a specialization in human neurophysiology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology earned in 2014, Patrícia Oliveira-Silva is the Director of the Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL). She also serves as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Católica Porto (FEP-UCP), overseeing internationalization, research, and knowledge transfer. Additionally, she is a full member of the Research Center for Human Development (CEDH). Throughout her career, she has led international research projects funded by national and international agencies, and her strong commitment to industry partnerships has been instrumental in driving knowledge transfer. She has led many initiatives to orchestrate international events and has designed unique platforms for the convergence of cultures and scientific disciplines, showcasing a commitment to fostering global scientific dialogue and cooperation.

Professor (Dr.) Tony Ghaye is a Professor at Loughborough University in London and at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway. He is also one of the world's first Chief Wellbeing Officers and the Director of the UMatter organization in Tanzania. He is a positive psychologist and community activist. Tony has written 18 academic books and 144 scientific papers, all of which focus on ways to be our best self. He spent 20 years working in teacher education in 8 of the world's most innovative universities.

Scientific publications, presentations in variuos international conferences, project and research activities cover the field of research interests. Carmel Borg is the outgoing head of the Department of Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education, University of Malta. He is the author, co-author and editor of a number of books and academic papers that explore the relationship between education, democracy, and social justice. Borg is the editor of the Malta Review of Educational Research (MRER) and the Education Research Monograph Series (ERMS), and co-editor of the Postcolonial Directions in Education. He is a member of the International Parent Centred Network (IPCN) and the editor of its (2022) publication entitled ‘Reimagining Parenthood in Diverse Contexts. A Handbook of Parent-Centred Approaches’. Published in September 2024, his latest (co-edited) book is titled ‘Stretching Boundaries of Critical Education. Past, Present and Future Possibilities’. In December 2022, Borg was awarded the National Order of Merit for his outstanding contribution to social justice in education.

AI Literacy for Teachers: Preparing Educators for an AI-Driven World
Ting-Chia Hsu is currently a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Technology Application and Human Resource Development in National Taiwan Normal University. Her research interests include computational thinking education, technology-enhanced learning, and AI literacy. Since 2023, she is co-editor-in-chief of the journal Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning (RPTEL). Professor Hsu is currently the co-PI of educational big data analytics project in MOE and responsible for calling for micro program proposals of educational big data analytics in Taiwan.

Remigijus Bubnys – Professor and Senior Research Fellow of Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy. His main areas of research interest are related to didactics of higher education, culture of reflection and reflective practice in organisations. The issues of specialist training in higher education and professional development of teachers are discussed in his scientific articles. For more than 15 years he has been studying reflective learning practices using different methodological approaches in qualitative research. His work is directly related to the study of reflective/experiential teaching and learning as an educational phenomenon in teacher education in higher education and the expression of reflective leadership in general education. He actively collaborates with the University of Girona (Spain), is involved in the activities of The Network on Cooperative and Reflective Learning, which includes the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona and the University of Barcelona. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal "Social Welfare and Interdisciplinary Approach" and a Head of the research group "Teacher Education and Teaching (Learning) Processes".
